Etherium used to be the Glittering City. It stood for the first seventeen years of the War.

When the War began, refugees began pouring in from cities worldwide.

Then everything changed.

A bomb from the Next Era is dropped in the Hearth of the City, destroying most of the buildings, killing nearly all of the residents. Two years later, when it finally seems safe, the Etherians begin to rebuild.

Yet the City is still devastated. And in the Hearth, a barista is hanging on by a thread.

Jordyn Brandt has lost everything: her parents, her brother, her home. She spends one night a week powering the City to afford her small apartment, and the rest of her days tending a small café on the north side.

Her world is flipped upside down when she jumps off of an overpass, catching the boy who fell from the sky.
