Astrid Cavanaugh has pretty much led the same life all through her years in Waltham. She's gone to the same school, done the same stuff, and had the same friends. She finds herself wishing for more variety in her life, something that can make it more interesting and not as average.

Then, a strange new project in her sophomore year curriculum comes up, and she finds herself in the frequent new company of the new boy Jasper Yates.
