Many dream of going to the Olympics. At sixteen years old, Samantha Pearce was one of the lucky few. And she didn't just go to the Olympics, she won the thing, with gold medals in five of the six women's artistic gymnastics events. But what happens after you achieve your dream? At seventeen years old, Fred Hamilton is unlike anybody else in his tiny town of Noman's Field, Saskatchewan. While everybody is hockey obsessed, Fred has always hoped to become a figure skater. In a town that doesn't even have a figure skating coach, Fred has had to learn his own way around the sport, all while dealing with teasing and disapproval. When Samantha's mom sends her to live in Noman's Field, their two worlds collide and a surprisingly close friendship forms.
