Brook, a human girl from modern-day society, wakes up at the bottom of an unfamiliar tower with no memories of how she arrived there, and very few recollections from her past life. Accompanied by an elf-eared sharpshooter and a heavily-armored dragon-scaled warrior, Brook searches for answers within the Spire, becoming stronger with every passing moment. But there are forces working beyond even the most observant's view, and there are plenty of questions that need to be answered- and in order to do that, there's only one thing that she can do. Climb. In this story based heavily upon the deckbuilding rogue-like game Slay the Spire, Brook, Jace, and Islingr all work in collaboration in order to survive the Spire's extremely dangerous conditions, fighting monsters of all different kinds, unsure of who or what to trust, and being pulled every which way by mystical forces, both of which seek something from the protagonists. Disclaimer: I don't own Slay the Spire (obviously), but plenty of the characters presented are of my own creation. If there is a character that I did not make myself, I will make that much clear the first time they appear in the story as an author's note. This story is run like a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. The overarching plot is already decided, but how the characters fulfill their roles in the plot is not. All of the nerd stuff is going to be released in separate chapters, for those interested in seeing how the story played out the way it did, but expect the narrative chapters to come first.
