Their dreams were different.Their choice at things were undoubtedly different.Their view towards something were certainly different. It's not they couldn't stand each other. It's that they are not habituated to a person who has opposing your every view. Their path clashed by them knowingly. 
They don't even know what is in the store of them? Neither do they care nor do they regret.
They took a risk of merging their world.
They knew they have to do adjustment
They knew they have to give a thought to others opinion.
They knew that they have to be there for the other person in all time without any second thought.
