She stood up and wobbled a single step before falling into my arms. She was underweight, majorly. I picked her up and carried her out of the cage.
    There was no longer a brawl happening upstairs, which means our diversion didn't last as long as we needed it to. We hadn't been down here for long but obviously the gods are finding our plights funny today and apparently that's reason enough to mess with our plans. We needed a re think.
        Just as my brother was about to open his mouth to recommend I listen to him more, the basement doors opened.

         The landlord stood at the doors, bringing the noise of the bar above with him.
        "Would you believe us if we said we got lost on the way to the toilets?"
