She then begins to feel followed and finds out a mystery wolf is following her everywhere. She soon discovers that her families death was no accident and this mysterious wolf soon is to be in her life much longer.

Her wolf has to completely go dormant, because it's just causing her pain and she would died of she didn't. Alex thinks that she's dead, because he felt the connection between them break.
