The Other Half

When one lives in Silverline, the main objective of life is to find your Soulmate. At birth, one is given a unique necklace, made by the Matchers, of course, that interlocks with one other necklace in the world, the necklace of one's Soulmate, and the necklace is activated at age sixteen, to begin the odyssey of finding their Match. If one finds their Soulmate, they and their Soulmate's necklaces will heat up and burn their Wearers' skin with the names of the couple, and a big festival shall be thrown for them, in celebration of finding their Match. Lor, a sixteen year-old girl, has just had her Activation, when the Matchers activate the heating and magnetism in the necklace. Before the Activation, she fit in perfectly with the community. But now, she struggles to find a place in life, and even though her necklace warms up to a certain boy, she feels warmer and closer to someone else. Maybe the necklaces aren't always right . . .
