After 17 year old  Estelle or 'Elle's" father dies of cancer, her, her mother, and her sister pack up  and move to Texas to live with her wealthy uncle and his family.  Elle and her cousin Charlene are total opposites and don't get along very well. Charlene is the popular  pretty girl, and Elle is the shy awkward nerd.  But when Elle starts to like Shane, the gorgeous star quarterback at her new school, she requests help from Charlene to transform her from geeky to one of the of the most popular girls in school.
