...the worst of the Dead bodies littered the shoreline, all wearing white armbands with a yellow star. As the beach gave way to land, the dead became few. Not many made it past the ports. My squad and I surveyed the mass grave, making sure there was no survivors other then our prisoners.
"No sign of life, Captain," A voice said beside me, and i nodded, eyeing the bodies as i yelled, "Lets wrap it up! Im getting tired of the stench of rotting shit, the poor dumbasses.."
A chorus of grunts arose, and weak ones followed from the soldiers who mourned our losses. I nodded my squad ahead, and I eyed the heaps a last time.
"Come on Levi, lets go. The titans will get them," Hange piped, slapping me hard in the back. I frowned and let out a grunt. "Then lets hurry. Can't have you making anymore pets." We shared a chuckle, but a voice carried over the rest.
"Wait!!"
Looking back, i wish id have just kept going and did as I had been told. Left em for the titans.

This is the first time I've written a story like this, however I feel that I should explain some plot points since I did try to stick as close to the anime canon as possible but there are a few things I'd like to clear up first. This story starts at the fall of Wall Maria from your perspective as a young girl who lived in the Shiganshina district, I'll leave the age unspecified if I can but at the end she will definitely be over 18 years old. Then I will go into a time skip after developing the relationship between the reader and Levi as he helps the reader through their depression, I just wanted to get some background into the story first since it's important to how the reader ends up meeting Levi. Another thing I wanted to point out is that I know that the scouts didn't live in the abandoned castle until after they got Eren in the Survey Corps however I set the story there the majority of the time since I have no clue where they lived before and this is my story so I'll do what I want XD. I'm going to write for a female reader since it should be easier for me to write for this story that way, but I plan on doing more gender neutral stories in the future if this goes over well. This will only be rated 18+ near the end (Like literally only in the last chapter) as I mostly want to focus on the relationship the reader forms with Levi and I don't want my first story to be pure smut. Or maybe you both are in adult relationships and that's just how things are in real life? Also you are equal to Levi here. You're not his soldier, so no salutes and penalties. Levi has practically no power over you. And it drives him craaazyyy I know many of you think that dating Levi Ackerman would be the best thing in life but I honestly think that it would come with many-many complications. Well, sure, he's a complicated man. Also, very toxic. Furthermore, dear reader, you will encounter such people as Commander Hanji and Armin Arlert, of course.
