Alexander Hamilton was drafted into the United States Army shortly after Pearl Harbor. Despite having several friends fighting along side him, that doesn't save anyone from the horrors of war. After the Normandy landings Alexander finds himself paralyzed and unable to speak. After being checked by a medic who points out nothing is physically wrong, he's given the diagnosis of shell-shock/battle fatigue. He's sent to a hospital ship and is put under the care of a kind doctor named John Laurens. While being treated by John the two start to develop feelings for each other. As the war comes to a close Alex reveals he has nowhere to go so John willingly takes him in and pining for each other quickly turns into dating. How will John handle the turbulence of Alex's condition? Will Alex ever go back to his old self?
