On a night where the sky seemed to be missing stars Lucy Ridge drives home after an exhausting day at work. Before she knows it she's clashing with the car in front of her launching her into the afterlife. She wonders how this could have happened. She was always kind to everyone never conjuring judgement. Never holding up a facade against the world. Lucy's life put to a halt too soon. If only she hadn't looked at her phone. If only her life lasted a bit longer. Now for some reason she's stuck looking at the aftermath through a two way mirror. Her pain resonating in the way she isn't able to tell her boyfriend, Jamie, it isn't his fault. Or in the way she can't tell her parents they'll get through it together. All that's left are the stars of a million little pieces of glass shimmering in the air.

Christopher Jensen was like any college student- studying when he needed to, partied when he wanted, and drank like there was no tomorrow. He was right about one thing- there would be no tomorrow for the nineteen year old, who is instantly killed in a car accident that he had caused. He sees the life he lived flash before him, and expects to see the gates of Hell to open for him. Instead, when he opens his eyes, he meets six year old Stella Green, a vibrant child with a vivid imagination. It doesn't take long for Chris to understand what was going on. He had become an imaginary friend to a six year old girl.
