Caroline Grace Fray was a bright, beautiful girl. She's going through the hardest time in her life, her mom died, she has cancer, and she's moving across the country. Insert Ryder West, a rebellious handsome, tan, built guy. He was the small town college football star. As some found his personality troubling and cocky, Caroline saw the good in him. After her mothers death, and her Dads mental break down. Caroline and her brother Jake move to Wilmington, North Carolina. They move in with there Aunt Jenna and Uncle Steven. As Carolina thinks that her life is ending and she's going to spend we last finals years or months, as her doctor predicts, in a small town. She ends up having the time of her life.
