His eyes burned into my soul as we had a staring match. He wanted to intimidate me, he wanted to know that he had won. Usually, I would have crawled away and hidden in my shell. But today was different. If I even give him the slightest satisfaction by backing down he would assume he had won.
This was an ongoing battle with him. Today he wasn't going to acquire any confidence from me. I was going to win even if that meant getting hurt in the process.
"You know," he started, keeping the eye contact we held. He took an inch of a step closer to me. A foolish grin made its way to his lips. "You're cute when you're mad."
He winked at me before walking away and I let out a piercing groan. He did it again. He'd won.
