I walk up the steps, hoping that he isn't behind me. Of course knowing him, he'll definitely follow me.

I gasp in surprise when he suddenly darts for my hand.

"Please," he whispers. "I am so sorry."

He takes a step up; and then another. We're the same height now. I can't help but let the tears fall.

He lifts his hand to my face and wipes the tears away.
