"Ugly, fat, fake, slut."
These are only some of the things Thalia has been called. Sam is the only person who makes her feel like a real human being. Everyone else makes her feel like a screw up. Like the world would be better off without her. Her own father treats her like an animal. But she has that special someone in her life who gets her through it each and everyday. But can he continue to help her? Or will he betray her? Promises will be broken, threats will be made. Can Thalia keep fighting, or will she end it all?

Thalia Anagnos-Loukanis A 14-year-old girl who has not only struggled to fit in at school but with the people that should have loved her; her family. She was the one that brought two families together. People wouldn't say the families hated one another, they would say that they chose to have nothing to do with one another. But Thalia, she was supposed to bring them together, to unite them. But rather, when she was born, it seemed to change the two families. Instead of them aweing and cooing at her, they would have banished her if they got the chance. Growing up, it became 16 against 1. Older sisters are supposed to share their clothes with their younger sisters and prepare them for what was awaiting for them. Older brothers were supposed to protect the younger ones and tease them from time to time. Not tie their baby sister to a chair and force her to eat her dinner that was just mush or make her sleep out on a cold winter's night so that her body would harden. She looked up to her eldest brothers and sisters, hoping that one day she would be loved by them like parents. But nothing changed from the cold glares and door slams in the face. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "All I wanted was to be looked at like their little sister who they loved" "Just another ordinary day of the silent treatment. I don't think they have ever spoken an endearment to my face" "The ratty hair, the ratty clothes. I probably look like I have just woken out of a trash can not a thousand dollar bed" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *TW: some themes and words may be distressing to some* ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Started: 3.10.22 Finished: - Rankings: -

"You know you need me, but even before I get close, you're pushing me away." Thalia grunts, "I need you? Where'd that come from?" Miguel runs his fingers through his hair, maintaining their proximity as his breaths become heavier and more ragged. Out of nowhere, he brushes his knuckle against her jaw, then to her cheek, and finally, he grasps her nape. Thalia stands frozen, unable to even blink. "My parents want me to settle down. You need your status secured," he states. "You need me." ****** Thalia Sarmiento, once a shining star as class valedictorian and university cum laude, is thrust into an unexpected role after the untimely death of her family's patriarch. To support her mother and younger sister, she leaves behind a promising career and ends up taking refuge in the unlikeliest of places--a Filipino grocery store in Edmonton. Enter Miguel de la Cruz, a 27-year-old Filipino Canadian set to inherit the family grocery store and a YouTube sensation with thousands of subscribers. Addison has been living in the back lot of Taco Bell for the past 3 months. She was kicked out by her father on her 18th birthday, and she's starting to run out of money. With no job and no house, she needs someone to help her back to her feet again. And that person, she will find out, is Sam Pottorff. I've discontinued this book- not because the concept was bad (which it was), but because I'm no longer a huge fan of this person. If someone wants to take the concept, I'm sure they have or will. Thank you guys so much for reading :)
