Mina Crawford is forced to be sent to Ashborne, a place for people born with no magical abilities, where she'll train to become a fierce warrior. She struggles to come to terms with her fate, however, things change when her life intertwines with Aaron Mason. He tells her about a secret clan of elite fighters that only the best warriors are admitted into, which his brother was once, and might still be, a part of. Together, along with a few others, they plan to fight their way up the ranks to gain positions in this clan in hopes of discovering his brother's whereabouts. 

As Mina comes closer and closer to becoming an elite fighter, she discovers that the elite fighters are much more than just a clan of warriors and have many secrets of their own. Mina must choose whose side she's really on before it's too late.
