Emory Traine was a normal 14 year old girl, had 1 younger brother Erin, a handsome boyfriend named Sean Conway, and was the shortstop for Mississippi Christian Academy softball team. But no one knows about her home life. Her mother died when she was 3 and now her father takes her anger out on her and Erin. When she goes to church with Sean one night, he knows about the abuse. He takes her under his wing, and takes Erin too. But when Mr. Traine comes looking for her and Erin, they have to run away. They end up living in the church.
