What if Stefan was the one meeting Elena on the road right before she and her parents went over the Wickery Bridge? And what if Damon saved her instead of Stefan? To keep it short, what if the Salvatore brothers met Elena the way the other did ( the same for after the accident => Damon at school when she goes out the bathroom and Stefan when she goes to the Boarding House ). "You really gonna do this Alexa?" Elena snarls at her, and she chuckles, "You started this Elena. Don't try and act like the victim." Alexa snaps back and Elena frowns.
