Life is good for Arcelle. She has a calm life, not of the poor or rich lifestyle. Just enough for good food, good school, and good family. A life that most would want, but she wasn't satisfied. She's grateful but she wants more thrills in it. It is too placid, too plain, too dull. The young woman just feel so stuck and confined. Everything, every action following a routine, a pattern. She wanted something to happen like in the movies she watches, the books she reads and the thoughts she dreams like saving the world, craving for action but without losing anything she already has. But with every give there will always be a take.
When her dreams slowly fulfills, the truth of the world slowly reaches her which will forever change her life. After transferring to her new school, Arcelle meets more people like her, people with a "malison" just like heroes who had powers. Unlike the books she reads, it was darker and morbid. Getting thru her new life, thankfully, she meets people who were there for her. Were they?
