Sophomore Mackenzie Cookson is no stranger to betrayal. At her old high school in Galveston, Texas, even those close to her turned their backs when rumors spread by her ex-boyfriend ruined her reputation and left her friendless at the beginning of Freshman year. Now, she goes to West Haven High School in Truebrook, Maine. Only, she's not the same girl she was. Mack acts tough and closes people out despite her true shy nature. She acts like she doesn't do well in school though she actually gets straight As. Her main goal: get through high school without being noticed. However the tables are turned when she meets some people that actually want to get to know her.
