This aims to be an original story based on Percy Jackson, I tried to focus on the things that I didn't like about the Percy Jackson series and aimed to make a story for myself that addresses that. The main difference is with society and their relationship with the Gods. I never liked Greek Gods, so I made up a fictional religion that is what the book is based on. Instead of focusing on mythological stories and heroes, I focused on community, animism, immanence and the connection the land. I tried to make my character be a lot more self-sufficient than Percy who always needs help from Gods, but at the same time my character has a strong sense of culture and community. Oh, and his name is Jack... https://thoughtsofjuan.me/tlb
