Layla Gabriel was living on a rollercoaster. With extreme highs and lows, one hour of the day was not like the next. Nobody, not even Layla, knew what her emotions had in store for her that day. It was a cruel surprise, but despite it all, she managed to make it to the ripe age of eighteen.

Adrian Macon was the golden boy of Lancaster High. He was a sight for sore eyes and born with a silver spoon in his mouth. With his money and glory, everything and everyone seemed to come at hand for him. Girls swooned over him, boys admired him, and elders compared their own children to him.

For Adrian and Layla to cross paths seems like a mistake the universe could've made. He was the sun and she was the moon.

🥀 = a chapter will talk in depth about character's personal experience with possible triggering topics.

*TW* Contains topics and scenes of sexual assault, self-harm, abuse.* "You know you loved every second of it," I can feel the tears welling up as well as the anger building up within me. I stare at him for a while before I have to turn away from his hungry gaze. "Look I just came here to tell you that I forgive you for what you did back in Cali and I'll take you back," "You forgive me?" I yell. "I did nothing to you. You raped me! You fucking raped me! You have no right to come here and tell me that. You. Forgive. Me. You traumatized me. What you did to me tore me up inside and was eating away at me until I tried to kill myself. And when I told people they didn't believe me. I had to listen to so many people talk about how great a guy you were and how I clearly just regretted sleeping with you. You are a monster. You made me hate myself for something that was never my fault. You have caused me so much pain and suffering," I pause to take a deep breath. "So you don't get to come here to my school and tell me you forgive me. You don't get to make me feel bad about coming forward. The only thing I regret is ever thinking you were a good person." _____________________________________________ Logan Young is a 16-year-old girl about to start her senior year in a brand new town. Calla thought a new town meant a new start. But Pine Ridge has a way of turning hope into something cruel. Her mom's smiles are fake. Her stepdad's affection is unsettling. Behind closed doors, her home hides more than it shows. At school, the line between friend and enemy blurs fast, and as whispers turn to rumors, and kindness turns to inhumanity, Calla's grip on control begins to slip. Secrets surface. Lies spread. And the people around her? They watch, helpless-or indifferent. Raw. Real. Unforgiving. No One Sees is a dark coming-of-age story about trauma, girlhood, and the pain people look away from. ***TRIGGER WARNING*** This story contains themes and depictions of trauma, bullying, emotional abuse, sexual harassment, mental illness, and suicide. It explores the dark and painful realities of how cruelty, neglect, and silence can impact young people.
