He held the book against his chest as if his life depended on it. He had promised, he wouldn't let go of it. His breath was heavy and ragged, the smoke filling his lungs intrusively. Each step it took made a sloppy sound that made the blue hedgehog cringing. Sonic was screwed. He tightly shut his eyes as he saw the creature jumping towards him, protecting the book instinctively. But when he thoughts that he would hear his own scream, his ears perked up at the sound of an audible squeak and a grunt. He peeked one eye out, seeing only smoke from where the monster was a second ago. Sonic's eyes widened and he looked around immediately, his hands slightly shaking. As he looked up at a roof, he noticed a silhouette, standing there, a giant smoky scythe resting over his shoulder. His crimson red eyes locked onto green emerald ones. "Pathetic." the figure said, making a shiver run up Sonic's spine." After a long fight with Metal Sonic, as both he and Metal became super, Sonic was defeated but Eggman pulled the Chaos Emeralds from Sonic and Metal Sonic before the robot hedgehog could deliver the final blow. Eggman disowned Metal and called him useless before firing the cannon. But Metal chose to take the Chaos Emeralds when the portal became unstable and turned into a black hole. While grabbing the Ruby, Metal Sonic sacrificed himself to save the world, making everyone believe him to be gone... However, they did not know that he was sent to an alternate dimension, where he would begin his new life becoming a hero in the SMG4 universe, proving he will be a better hero than Sonic.
