When it comes to planning food for a funeral ceremony, you need to consider various things such as the place where you live, your family traditions, and your culture. The inhabitants of the Southern US usually like hearty casseroles for the funeral reception whereas, those of Northeast depend on Italian fare and meatballs. On the other hand, in the Mideast, you'll mostly spot a plate of egg salad sandwich and hot dishes. Michael Scarpaci, the manager of Scarpaci funeral home in Staten Island says that doesn't matter where you live you should always decide food that is comforting, economical, easy to prepare and easy to eat. Keep in mind that the purpose of the funeral reception is to treat all the visitors who have come to pay their respects to the deceased.

Dear Chef

Dear Chef, Are you a magician? You took me to my past, the bittersweet memories of my childhood. How? Your food Mam. Must be wondering how do I know you're a 'Mam'. I asked my manager but I didn't get your name. I didn't want to. I want to live this illusion of an unknown person about you. This is the first time I've had food from your service. And your Daal recipe reminded me of someone. Thank you! Your new Customer S.M.
