This is the second installment in the 'Pokémon Red' series.
Red, a 10-year-old Pokémon Trainer, after rejecting the oppurtunity to become the Viridian City Gym Leader must continue his quest of becoming a Pokémon Master to the Johto Region.
Here he will be met with similar challenges, mainly - Team Rocket.

Q - This book has a crossover?
A - The book crosses over with @Bossun24 's Pokemon Leaf Chronicles for 6 chapters. The crossover had been planned 1 year prior to its publishing.
Q - Why is Leaf replaced by Lyra?
A - Leaf is not replaced by Lyra, both characters are different in their own ways. I wanted to get Leaf out of the picture for a different kind of character growth. Lyra is Red's cousin sister, with Red being an experienced trainer, he acts like a mentor to her.
Q - So time travel happens in this one?
A - It does, and its fun how it plays out.
Q - Who is this Masked Man? There was a masked man in the manga too.
A - While the idea was original, a mystery man who structures every Team Rocket plan and assists Giovanni. I was shocked to see that the manga had someone named "Masked Man" as well.
Q - Who is this Masked Man? And why is he important?
A - A mystery man controlling every aspect of a criminal organisation and has been the true mastermind of Giovanni's every plan? Sounds pretty important to me. As for his identity, I was very unsure if I was ever going to reveal it as it was not very important at first until the second book was coming to an end.

The Champion Quest
Summary: The World Championship Series have begun. Follow Ash as he goes through a new stretch of his journey where he will have to uncover the mystery behind the newly formed Neo Team Rocket and how is newly met companion ties with them. Whereas the character Blue (also known as Gary in the anime) is more of a frenemy than a rival. The main rivals would be Team Rocket Grunts - Cassidy and Butch as well as their Boss, Giovanni. Q - Is this story based on Pokemon Red or FireRed? A - The story has a few iconic moments from the games/manga but those events do not play a big part in the main story arc. Q - Is Ash Ketchum in it? A - The story takes place in its own universe. I try to bring some events from the games, the manga, and the anime. A - While Cassidy and Butch are characters from the anime, they have a different overall character arc than in the anime.
