Aspen lee has a secret that only her mom and sister know, but because of this secret, she avoids people and has never trusted anyone. Not even her family. She decides to move out of her home to start a new life and forget the scars of her past, yet knowing she could never be normal. A year has passed and Aspen now lives a peaceful life in Yellow Springs, Ohio, with the help of her dad as well as hiding her deepest, darkest secret all to her self.
Because of a series of certain events, Aspen now has to live in the city, where she avoided over the past year, to help her dad and to earn money whilst risking her secret. There she meets Vernon Green, an art student just like her, and an unusual and straightforward person who somehow helps Aspen see that the world isn't how she presumes it to be.
