Shelby Elliot pretty much lives up to her name. She's always hiding in a shell like a turtle, and even though her name is defined as a "shelter for willows to grow free" she isn't very social, and ignores all contact with people whatsoever, that is, except with her two crazy best friends, Cassie and Robin. Shelby truly is the outcast not only in public, but in her family of four.
