I had only seen her face before on a poster my father had brought home about a year ago. When I questioned him on her identity, he flew into a rage.

"This," He has pointed at the woman with enough force I was sure he would rip the poster in two. "Is the scourge of our economy! This morceau de merde could ruin France with enough people. Her crew runs less than twenty and yet she is able to steal from merchants all across the Côte d'Azur! This, Madeleine, is the salope who calls herself The Lady Captain!"

Madeleine Louise Durand is the daughter of a wealthy merchant in the coastal Toulon, France. She enjoys the quiet things, like sewing, commerce, rejecting suitors, and looking at the stars.

One night is the wrong night for astronomy; The Lady Captain has a raid planned.

Neither Lady nor Pirate (Complete) de sophie9630
42 partes Concluida
Abbie has never been what one would call a typical lady. Trying to keep up with England's rich and powerful is far too much work, and Abbie has never enjoyed the endless games of chasing acknowledgement form her peers. When she's engaged rather unwillingly to the wealthiest lord in London, she knows without a doubt it will be the worst thing she'll ever face. So what does she do? She runs. Finn has been roaming the seas as a pirate aboard The Iron Lady for ten years. Since the death of his father, he's been pirating to provide for his mother, sister, and her two children--all the while unbeknownst to them. While there have been a number of heists that have ended favorably, their poor condition has changed little. Finn wearies of life at sea, and begins thinking about leaving the business to return home to Ireland for good. When he kidnaps a businessman's teenage daughter, he is absolutely certain that the ransom payoff will be the one to end his career as a pirate. Abbie has always thought that pirates are uneducated, cruel, and just plain terrible company. Finn is certain that rich girls are snobby and selfish and is dreading spending any time with one aboard the ship. But when their journey together begins, they find that their expectations might be entirely incorrect. With the voyage of The Iron Lady spanning the globe from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, from the Iberian Peninsula to England, neither lady nor pirate will be able to resist the adventure--and romance--that will come along with it.

The Pirate's Daughter is a thrilling, action-packed saga in the Golden Age of Piracy, blending high-seas adventure with powerful themes of resistance, freedom, and love. Set in the height of colonial expansion and transatlantic trade, this story follows Elias Balfour, a nobleman turned pirate, and his fierce daughter, Tawni, as they battle against slavery and imperialism. Once the heir to the Earl of Norrington, Elias Balfour forsakes his aristocratic life to become "Black Balfour," the pirate known for leading daring raids to free enslaved Africans. His ship, Black Death, becomes a legendary symbol of resistance. As a man of complexity, Elias navigates his internal struggle with his secret bisexual love affair, contrasting his public image as a hardened pirate leader. Tawni Balfour, born in Tortuga to a local woman, inherits her father's rebellious spirit and eventually becomes the feared pirate queen of the Caribbean. Raised on tales of her father's exploits, she leads a diverse crew, including Oba, a former slave and her first mate, and Cyrca, a native American girl who becomes her lover. Together, they wage a relentless war against colonial oppressors, including the ruthless Admiral Swift, a Spanish officer determined to crush their defiance and maintain control over the region. In a world of betrayal, high-stakes adventure, and stormy seas, The Pirate's Daughter explores the intersection of love, identity, and resistance. Amid betrayal and battles, the pirates' fight for freedom is more than just survival-it's a rebellion against an empire determined to enslave and colonize. The title and characters' names are inspired by the "The Pirate's Daughter" campaign in Heroes of Might and Magic IV, which blends classic pirate lore of resistance and rebellion with modern themes of anti-slavery, anti-colonialism, and LGBTQ love. The Pirate's Daughter is a rich, unapologetic tale of defiance, romance, and the unbreakable spirit of those who fight for freedom.
