Richard Faulkes didn't want to fight a war. He wanted to live out his days peacefully in London, watching out for others and doing whatever made people smile. Peter and Katherine wanted just the same. But someone started a war, and they had to do their part to stop it. None were grumbling about that.

Seems everyone got a war whether they wanted it or not.

Even with one of their number out of the country, Peter, Richard, and Katherine don't plan on leaving anyone alone. Despite the Blitz and the miles, some would say that the trio were closer than they'd ever been. And no one denied that they were closer to the suffering people around them.

|"After all this, and I'm sure you'll both agree with me, I don't think wars are fought with guns and bombs after all. I've done much more caring for others than fighting for them. I think I prefer it."|

Collaboration with @silmarilz1701 Svetlana knew how to play the game. She'd been caught in the political drama of Stalin's inner circle since birth. The only child of one of Stalin's closest friends, she grew up in the limelight, scrutinized by friend and foe. With the outbreak of the war, Sveta found a taste of freedom with the snipers. For Zhanna, her place in the military was the only thing she could be proud of, giving her a tie to the place she called home. With the grace of others looming over her head, Zhanna had only one chance to be more than the blood inside her veins and the prayer on her lips. But then the Nazis invaded the Motherland. Tasked with reaching the Allies by her father, Sveta once more found herself a political pawn. But she wouldn't go alone. Friend and comrade Zhanna joined her in their flight from Russia. But with the Eastern Front crumbling, the girls found themselves at the mercy of America for a way home. And that way home meant learning to jump with the Airborne. They were already soldiers. How hard could that be? For Zhanna, she may be able to embrace the company of those around her. But for Sveta, the daughter of a man who represented everything the Allies worked against in the Bolshevik Revolution, it may be too difficult. * * * * Title Inspiration: "Death to the German invaders! Long live our glorious Motherland, her liberty and her independence! Under the banner of Lenin, forward to victory!" - J. "Once upon a time, my entire world seemed like a dream. It was no wonder they called Paris the city of love; because sometimes, you just couldn't help but love it. No matter how much it rejected, betrayed, and turned us away, I would always love Paris the way I remembered it. Before it was stolen from us." Kate was grateful she got to have one good birthday. One, last good memory before it all happened. Before the German soldiers performed one of the biggest round-ups, known to World war two. Before nearly forty thousand Jews were deported from Paris. Before Kate, and her family were kicked out of their own city, their own country, and shipped to one of the most notorious concentration camps in Poland. Despite their ill luck, Kate remains forever hopeful. But even the hopeful aren't entirely naïve. Ever since she was a child, Kate has always wanted to be a hero. One of the heroines in her stories, to be specific. But what she doesn't know yet is that she is destined to become part of something bigger. With a boy she gradually realises she's in love with, and newfound friends in unexpected places, can Kate set out to save those she loves and more? Or will her decisions render the lives of not only thousands, but her own?
