He's been stuck between trying to cope with their losses, with the aid of unhealthy amounts of alcohol, and being unable to hold back his anger issues, of which Sam and Jack have become the unlucky main targets. The reunion with the angel, while, on one hand, shines a fresh ray of hope on the boys' path, on the other puts a spotlight on the mistakes made in the previous weeks and brings up issues that have been ignored and avoided for too long. Cas is determined to reconnect with Jack and try to fix the relationship between Dean and the nephilim, together with helping his best friend to heal.
