Conner is a fifteen year old girl who knows all about the effects fire can have. Her family was killed in a house fire when she was just three years old, from which she was the only survivor. She was rescued and later adopted by a big widowed man and his three older sons out on what she thinks is a regular hunting trip in the Colorado wilderness. They take her in and raise her like their own, never letting her know what they all truly are, werewolves. That's not the only secret they are keeping from her though. The years go by and pass without a hitch...until the night of Conner's sixteenth birthday, when The Fire comes back...with a vengeance this time.
