Hanahaki: An illness born from unrequited love, where the patient's throat will fill up with flower, they will then proceed to throw, and cough up the petals, (sometimes even the flowers). One of the only ways for the disease to 'disappear' is if, the said person returns the feeling (it can't be resolved with friendship, it has to be genuine feelings of love).
This is what this story is going to be about. The pairing is IchiTodo. I've recently found out what this was and I thought that it was a wonderful thing to write about! Please enjoy!

It's Just a Cough (AsaNoya) ~completed~
Hanahaki is a disease where the affected coughs up the favorite flowers of the one they love, left untreated it can kill in a matter of weeks, you can get a surgery to remove the root, however you will forget everything about your loved one, or never feel love again. More commonly people let it kill them, but this can be avoided by confessing, however if you get rejected, the condition will progress faster and surgery will no longer be an option. The cough will start with a few petals, then progress to the entire flower head, after that a bit of blood, and finally, the entire flower with the stem and blood. If it gets to that point, you likely have days to live. The condition progresses faster or slower depending on how long the love has existed and how strong it is. Some of the warning signs for the disease are high unexplainable fevers along with harsh coughing fits and trouble breathing, these symptoms only occur for the worst cases however, so not everyone will have warning signs. "Great" Asahi sighed with his head in his hands. "Just what I needed." When Asahi gets sick and doesn't recover it's up to him and a few others to figure out what to do before it's too late, only, he has a secret he doesn't want them to know. Some say secrets can kill, but this time it's far too real. (Disclaimer!!! Idk if this will end up being finished but i have the plot mapped out, so if it does get abandoned, i can tell you about the ending if you want.) In most cases the diagnosed is known to experience excessive coughing sessions and throwing out flower petals of their beloved's favourite kind of flower accompanied by some blood and/or mucus. Some other symptoms might include chest pains, shortage of breaths and fainting. Methods of treatment and cure are yet to be discovered. Surprisingly, Wen Junhui of Seventeen is rumoured to be diagnosed with the disease and not so surprisingly, the rumours are true. Junhui does indeed cough up the blue primrose petals from time to time, Joshua's favourite kind. They suddenly stop by the time he had started coughing up the individual petals of 3-4 Primroses. Junhui is happy, with himself and his beloved who seems inclined to stay by his side. One unfortunate night and they are back again. Way more vigilant in their stance this time.
