If everything was so "fine", then why was Lance left feeling so empty? And why was the only thing filling that void was a visit from Keith? What does everyone else know that Lance's doesn't - and why do they hide it?

Everything is just so complicated - especially when it comes right back down to Keith, and the truth behind the supposed Alpha.

We sit in silence for some time, one that is comfortable and something we're accustomed to. It's just us-Keith and me-trying to get by. I wish it were this simple with the team.. Well, former team. Ugh, stop it, Lance. Stop thinking about it. I'm still needed... And important, right? I hope so... 

Why does everything have to be so different? Why don't they come around to visit? Why can't I ever visit them? Why do they always tell me "It's not a good time right now, Lance"? Why does everyone but Keith do it? He always tells me that as soon as he's back in the Solar System he'll visit, or that when he has some time off he'll come and help with the farm and Abuela. He's so kind, almost sickeningly kind. Why is it so complicated?

The war is over, and omegas have never been more valuable. The Galra empire severely dwindled Earth's population, and now omegas were required to have at least one pup with their mate. If they didn't by the age of 25, the Omega Breeding Program would bring the omega to one of their facilities and give them a waiting alpha to mate with.
