The Wall. It was said to have been built by the first Titans, the most respected warriors that Mankind had ever seen. This wall, which separated The Last City from the hostile world beyond, was one of the only things protecting the people within its confines. It was a symbol of hope for a dying world. And with the Traveler sitting just overhead, the people in the city were safe and protected from their enemies - just as intended.

The outside world was a different story. The delapidation of older civilization could be seen not even three feet from the wall. Lined with the corpses of the people who died trying to enter or leave the City, the land just beyond the wall was terrifying. Rolling hills accompanied by a beautiful sky and wrecked automobiles, with their drivers still sitting inside. The land is littered with the remains of a breathtaking world, a civilization that once was, and will never be again.

Nobody dares to leave the safety of the walls. They provide protection, just like the Traveler itself does. The inside of the City is safe, the outside is not. It should be that simple.

But it isn't.
