However, after Genji makes a drastic mistake in an important mission, Commander Reyes decides it's best to demote him - all the way back to Novice. While struggling to deal with his anger, feeling betrayed and useless, Genji gets assigned a new mission to show he can, in fact, follow Reyes' orders: he is to welcome a Rookie to Blackwatch and watch over him for his first days. Regardless of Genji's rudeness, the Rookie is determined to be kind to the cyborg. He even seems to worry for Genji's wellbeing; it is something Genji isn't used to, and his feelings about it contradict everything he thought he knew about himself. Overwatch became family and you couldn't bear to find anything that would tear it apart. You, a selfless girl, blamed and beat yourself up for things that happened to your family. No matter what, you'd give yourself up for them, even as a little kid. This is my first fanfiction, and have been thinking about writing one for a long time. If it doesn't meet your expectations, sorry. I'm a real noob at this. Hope you like it either way! It'll be hard to update since I'm usually really busy, but I'll do my best to try to write something every week or two. Also, sorry if this isn't gender neutral. It's really hard for me to do that. And who will be betrayed? (This fan fiction is an AU that follows the belief that Tracer created the Blackwatch and most of the Overwatch agents are now Blackwatch, and vise versa. And before I get flamed for it, I want to address this now: Yes, Tracer has been confirmed a lesbian so yes, I am using that part of her character in the story. I understand that many people reading this will have a problem homosexuality, but again, I just want to keep Tracer true to her character.
