A lonely girl from a small town in Oklahoma finds herself in the middle of Seattle, Washington. What she didn't know was fate was about to deal her a hand that she needed to help put all her demons back where they belonged, locked away for good.

A war hardened soldier, blinded in an attack while doing a black ops mission, was sitting there with his friend at a movie night of all things when an angel walked into the room. What little vision he did have gave him the notion that an ethereal being had just graced his presence. Little did he know, she'd be stuck with him for the foreseeable future after an unexpected attack. At first she was drawn to his service dog, but then it wasn't long before she couldn't keep her mind off of him. Which was good because he had no plans of ever letting her go. Sight unseen, he'd decided she was the most beautiful thing he'd ever met.

He knew he had issues she didn't deserve to have to handle. She knew she had a past that he wouldn't want to deal with. But fate had other plans for the two lovers, a blind promise.

Can they work through their differences, their mental health challenges, and the dangerous situations that come their way?

𝐀 𝐖𝐀𝐑𝐅𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐓 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐑𝐘 When a Navy SEAL mission in Iraq goes tragically wrong, Chief Sam Lawson is left shattered-his body broken, his future uncertain. Sent home with injuries no one expected him to survive, Sam is forced to face a new kind of war: recovery. At home, his wife Allie becomes the anchor to a life neither of them recognize. She's holding up a household, raising their daughter, and caring for the man she almost lost-physically, emotionally, and in every way that matters. Healing isn't neat. It's messy, brutal, and painfully slow. There are nightmares, hospital beds, slammed doors, and more than a few moments when love has to be louder than the fear. But there are also sidewalk chalk drawings, late-night kitchen dancing, and second chances whispered in the dark. This isn't a love story that ends with a goodbye kiss. It's one that begins when everything else falls apart-and they choose each other anyway. _______________________________________ This story is inspired by the real-life strength of Navy SEAL Joseph Hildebrand, whose journey shaped Sam's character in every way that counts. Allie and the children are based on people I've personally witnessed walking through fire and choosing love again. I do not own the rights to any characters from Warfare. My chest hurt as an empty feeling rushed over me. My breathing picked up as I clutched my chest. It was painful but yet, oh so familiar. Black dots swam in my vision as my heart beat wildly. I closed my eyes and tried to calm my breathing. Panic attacks weren't uncommon for me. I'd had them ever since the accident. I felt the tears roll down my cheeks as my face heated. It was getting harder to breath. It felt like the walls were closing in around me, and the oxygen was being sucked out of the room. "Iris! Calm down. You have to calm down," a voice sounded from a distance. It was too late; I was in full panic attack mode. My body shook as I sobbed in gasps. I felt hands on my arms but barely. I was too far-gone. The black dots increased as my breathing did. I'd done this too many times to know what was coming next. I hyperventilated until I passed out completely. ~ After a traumatic event that led to her family's death, Iris moves with her Aunt to California to try and start over. Iris Morgan grew up a military brat. With her dad in the Marines, she grew accustomed to that lifestyle, until she was ripped from it. Now she has to be the new girl all over again. Only this time, she has to keep her PTSD in check as well as survive a high school full of teen celebrites, cute boys, and around the clock drama. All Iris has to do is survive two years until graduation, but what comes after graduation may prove to be more difficult than high school itself.

Normal isn't a term Olivia Hernandez is familiar with. Her mother is dead to an abnormal disease, leaving her wallowing in scattered memories. Her father is abusive and never sober, leaving her treading through glass shards of beer bottles. There's too many unclear secrets her family has, and so she can only act as if that's "normal". Her eyes are bright, and yet, her skin is littered in scars. Olivia meets Alex James, the son of her mother's best friend. And where do they meet? A graveyard. How oddly compelling. When the two find each other at her mother's grave, Olivia can't help but feel close to him, even with his harsh and yet somewhat caring atmosphere. Not only are his pretty bluebell eyes alarmingly alluring, but the memories he brings back to her are even more appealing. They had a hidden past, tied together by Olivia's deceased mother and toxic father. They had a hazy future, tied together by Alex's bastard of a father and Olivia's childhood nemesis. This was their reality. A reality for a boy with the prettiest bluebell eyes and a girl who would forever be a scarred beauty. ~~~ "You told me that you loved me," I said quietly as we walked across the golden fields, out of the nightmare of a territory. I peered at him to see his eyes half-closed, as if he was fighting and struggling to keep them open. "You told me to trust you." His blue eyes glanced at me for a moment before falling back to the ground. The sun began rising behind us as we continued on our path, shining rays of gold and orange light on us. I sniffled and smiled lightly, but it was without humor. "But I don't know if I can keep this up anymore..." [ DISCLAIMER: This concept was developed during my middle school years. The plot may be seriously underdeveloped, so unless you aren't looking to read a picture-perfect book, you're not where you should be. ]

I'm about to tell you a story about a girl. A normal girl. A girl that had no cares in the world, until her trust for it was stripped away. When you read her story, you'll find yourself trusting her, loving her, rooting for her. But you see, not everyone gets to trust the world. Not everyone has a happy ending. --- Halfway through the kiss however, his attitude changed; instead of being a loving embrace, it became a fierce trap. His grip on her waist tightened, trapped her where she was instead of simply holding her where he wanted her. The hand in her hair grabbed a section of it, enforcing his demand for her not to go anywhere. Before she knew what was happening, he left go of her hair, and pushed her to the ground. She gasped, suddenly able to breathe. He stood up and walked over to her. He placed a soft hand on her cheek, just like he used to when he was telling her how special she was to him. None of the emotion was there this time however, all she could feel radiating from his was rage. "You shouldn't have run off, babe," he said bitterly. "I was about to show you how much I loved you. Instead, I now have to show you what happens when you anger me." --- The men regarded her, before she was shoved to the ground and one produced a whip. There, laying broken on the floor, as the other girls watched, she was whipped. Slowly, she felt her skin breaking in time with her heart and her will.
