***Warning: Explicit Sexual Content*** Lavinia gripped her sister's elbow, as the dinner guests mingled in the garden, champagne flutes in hand. "What is the matter? You look... um, belligerent." "I'm going to be imprisoned for crimes against the crown before this night is over, sister," Elizabeth said, with a good dose of malice, and swiftly downed the contents of her glass, in a most unladylike way. "Care to explain before we go in for dinner?" "I wish I could explain, but I really don't know where to begin, and I'm afraid you are the last person I should be telling my tale to." Lavinia looked puzzled. "Try me." Elizabeth sighed, wishing she did not have a sister who had chosen to live the rest of her life married to God. She was supposed to be the one person she could go to and talk about womanly things, damn her eyes. "All I will say is that earlier today I had an unfortunate encounter with my betrothed... and his... um..." she fumbled for the right word. She supposed penis was the correct, scientific term, but saying the word seemed plain wrong in the presence of her pious sister. She therefore made a vague, awkward, wave-like gesture in the general area of her middle, blushing furiously. Had Lavinia been drinking champagne, she might have choked on it, but thankfully, she did not indulge in spirits. She did look, however, aghast. "I beg your pardon?" Elizabeth shook her head, turning her attention to the other side of the terrace, where the king and queen were calling their guests' attention. This was not the time, nor the place to divulge any further details. "Well, speak of the devil..." Elizabeth muttered, snatching another glass of champagne from a nearby valet. Set in a fictonal kindgom, this is the story of Elizabeth who begrudgingly arrives at the royal palace to finally wed Henry, the haughty prince to whom she had been promised since they were chldren.

SAMPLE CHAPTERS ONLY: Published in edited edition on Amazon *Trigger warning: small amount of physical and mental abuse in this otherwise loving and humorous story. After climbing the ranks from her humble beginnings of scullery maid to lady's maid, Nora Sharpe finds herself surrounded by luxury, refinement, and mostly peace. Finally happy and content with her life, Nora is now headed to Bath as a companion to the infamous and eccentric Lady Margaret, the Countess of Blakely. But, Lady Margaret sees something special in the young beauty and intends to turn her into a lady. Sponsoring Miss Nora Sharpe for a London Season will entertain Margaret's restless soul and quirky mind. Once she properly-or improperly-launches Nora into London's High Society, Lady Margaret plans to land Nora a titled husband, and the Cunning Countess will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Although grateful to Lady Margaret for such an extraordinary opportunity and kind gesture, Nora spends sleepless nights filled with worry and dread. As much as she loves daydreaming of the life the countess is offering, Nora knows with certainty it can never be. Should Nora unburden herself of the secret she's kept bottled inside for years? And if so, to whom can she trust? Or should she run while she still has the chance? Are the affections of an eccentric, loving, and stubborn countess, a devilishly handsome, mysterious duke, and a kind, romantic, and swoon-worthy earl enough to make Nora finally face the demons of her past? Book Two of my Victorian Novella series and can be read as a stand-alone book, but reading Book One, "The Heart of a Viscount" will give the reader more back history on Nora, my heroine in this one. A library, not bedroom romance.

Cordelia, who was already beyond the marriageable age, quickly agreed upon the arrival of a marriage proposal from one of the most influential and well-known noblemen. She wedded Leon expecting a pleasant married life, only to be greeted with cracks and mishaps. A beautiful woman who is only a noble by name And a dashing man who is a noble with power. Not long after their wedding, her bewitching yet indifferent and cold husband gave her a contract and declared an agreement. "We are forbidden from meddling with each other's affairs. Do not expect love in this marriage." "And within two years, if you fail to birth an heir, we will have a divorce." Each word was vividly engraved in her mind as she obediently did as she was told, fulfilling her duties as his wife throughout the course of their marriage. However, as the said year approaches without an heir, Cordelia slowly prepared herself to sign the divorce papers and leave. But why is it that Leon, who had treated her badly from the very beginning, was suddenly desperate to make her stay?
