Seventeen year old Cadence Buds is a normal teenager in a dying world. Well, the world isn't dying, but the sun is. It has been dying for several years now, but the effects are finally starting to come about. The sun has even been changing color. The government has been working on a plan to save a portion of the human population for quite some time. There are so many problems with the sun dying. The oceans will evaporate from the inevitable explosion, everything will be dark and nothing will be able to grow, the world will freeze over, everything will be destroyed. The sun is also giving off toxic radiation while it dies, making the world especially dangerous. The government's solution to this problem is to build a radiation proof dome over a large area. There will be synthetic heat, light, and seasons. The cost to enter such an oasis is very expensive. It is hundreds of thousands of dollars per ticket. However, there is another way to get in. Once the sun dies many will die with it. It might even vaporize part of the planet in its blast. No one knows for sure. But the world will need a larger population. You can earn your place in the dome if you agree to have a child to save the human race. This obviously only applies to women. Now remember Cadence? He is biologically female. He has been on testosterone for two years and is trying to transition in this world. Unfortunately that is horribly expensive where he lives. His family however is more focused on saving their lives from the dying sun. His parents had just enough money to afford his sister a ticket. She could not have children because she was barren. Cadence however could have children if he wished, but he didn't. Having a child meant undoing all of his hard work. He is told that in order to survive that he must have a child within the next two years. Two years is a long time, but he never wanted to have children. What will Cadence do once his two years have come to an end?

The pilots of these suits were almost all pulled from a previously untapped civilian resource: gamers. Suddenly, age was not a restriction. What's left of Dark Tech exists in three Neutral Zones spread throughout the globe. Three "war free" zones that house civilians who wish to remain outside the war. The year was 2157 when Earth crumbled and governments fell. Most living things died and their was a silence on earth that was deafening. The first particles of disease fell in North America in the Spring of 2157 and began to scatter and mutate into virus and bacteria. Bombs sailed through cities leveling Government buildings, business and residential. Historians call this period Decay. Ricin poisoning and nerve gases were released. Citizens began to fall ill and die quickly. Later historians found out that a few middle east countries, China and Russia poisoned all food with Ricin. The food was then shipped to US, Canada, UK, many European countries. This period is only known as "Decay' Some humans survived. Either from paranoia or luck, so the stories go. The paranoid ones were waiting for the first signs of a fallout and when it began they hid in their underground 'storage containers'. These were completely sealed once someone closed the door. The doors were automated and within 2 to 5 years depending on the setting chosen the doors would automatically open. The history of the 'lucky ones' is that they knew someone who had a container and welcomed them, or they hid in the container until the family that owned it got in and sealed the door. And hope they would not be killed for trespassing. Now it is 2243. The world has drastically changed. In this world the 'Owners' and 'Potentials' rule the 'communities'. Guards police, keeping communities separated. The Powers rule over what was once called North America now simply called East Nation North (ENN). Superiors handle their community they are assigned to. Under the Powers, Superiors, Water Protectors, Guards, owners and potentials come the animal breeders next on the hierarchy. Then the last three levels don't really matter to anyone. Those are the baby breeders, slaves and throwaways. They have no say in anything.

After World War 3 in the year 2046 the world changed a lot. Here I am living in the year 2112. The war changed the world, created new countries and destroyed a lot. The total number of countries and nations been halved since then. The world though, was quick to adapt from being a post-war wasteland to a modern utopia. The New World Government was set-up and now faces a new problems. Another thing, Since the war was fought with tremendous amounts nuclear arsenals, this war caused mutations to humans. The mutation occurred on atomic and cellular level. From minimal mutations to major mutations like physical, temporal and elemental mutations. Though its cool to have those mutations some think it as a curse for human beings. Scientists on the other hand claims it as a disease. A cellular disease caused by the widespread exposure to nuclear radiations. They call this disease as X-men syndrome referenced from 20th century fictional comics. The fictional mutations on comics and manga is now a reality. I myself, is an X-men.

After a nuclear war nearly in 2150 the whole Earth has become uninhabitable for humans. There are some major cities which are still running but have very scarce resources such as food, water and oil. There are tall, thick walls protecting people from the outside world, surrounding the whole city and there is a ceiling, blocking the radiation from seeping in as air is filtered through the roof. The year is now 2205 which is the beginning for Earth to become how it was before. There are a group of people called The Warriors who go out and try to look for resources, facing death daily. A seventeen year old boy tries to steal food for his friend, he gets caught and is sentenced to death. The only way he could get out is if he joined The Warriors to search for a mythical jungle which is rumored to be flourishing in food and water. The journey is going to be very dangerous and death can come at any corner. There are bandit clans, somehow surviving outside of the walls and new types of animals unseen from humans that they didn't know existed. He will meet new friends, make some enemies and will be manipulated to do some really idiotic things, will he survive the journey and become a hero? Or will he die anyway?

Friends and family turn on one another, losing control of their own minds and bodies. The Unaltered aren't safe. Even if the virus isn't attacking them, the ones with the virus are. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise.
