Bayside

67 parts Complete Mature

Four friends - JJ, Alexis, Maddox, and Aaron - have been best friends in the small coastal town of Bayside since they were children. Their inseparable bond felt more like family than anything. When JJ's mother, a longtime heroin addict, vanishes just weeks into summer, everything they used to cling to - long afternoons surfing, nighttime bonfires, and cozy sleepovers - begins to unravel. As JJ struggles to cope with his mother's addiction, he meets Carly, the new girl whose unrelenting desire to understand him forces him to confront his fear of being loved. Alexis, who's been in love with JJ for as long as she can remember, watches their connection deepen from the sidelines. Aaron tries to keep the group together in his typical carefree ways, but even steadfast Maddox begins to suffer from secrets he refuses to name. Bayside is an emotional coming-of-age story about the weight of addiction and the ways that sometimes, love just isn't enough.
