Lucas Young is missing. Dead, more likely, but no one wants to admit that truth; no one except for Lyra.

The man's eyes bore into mine, his face so beautiful it was deadly. The cruelty of his actions could never match the smooth darkness of his iris', so black and cold against the whites of his eyes. It was like watching the ocean waves crash against the shore at midnight. If it were possible, I would jump into his eyes and swim in their depths for eternity. I wanted to vomit, to scream, to cry, to do anything but go with the two strangers in front of me, no matter how alluring I found their eyes.
And yet, all I could bring myself to do was ask:
"Where will you take me?"
His eyes did not move from my own as he spoke.
"To the Kingdom of Light."

I could feel its presence from behind me. I tried walking faster, but I could feel it slowly pacing near me. I turned around, expecting a dark, hideous vampire standing behind me, but to my surprise, there was none. I turn back around to start going back to the pack house where it's safe but I realise, he's right in front of me. My breath catches in my throat as I let out a gasp.
