He threw my mother against the wall without laying a finger on her . She landed with a hard thud and I heard a cracking noise like some of her bones were being broken. He walked towards me with so much grace his body tense and his eyes full of worry. The large man then knelt down and looked into my eyes with so much softness and concern. All of my instincts screamed for me to run , to run as fast as I could and hide but the energy inside of me reached out to this man. It reached out to be nurtured and cared for. He inspected me like he was my creator and he wanted to see if his masterpiece was intact. I broke away from this energy induced state and ran straight to my mother.

“Run Maeve! Run!!” I could hear Phoenix’s voice yell to me in pain as I dashed through the woods while branches smacked me. I had to run faster, I had to escape, whatever that creature was it wanted me. I felt my feet slow down and my breathing sped up and I felt a burning sensation in my chest.
