Lannasia Derouv, distinguished member of Elchwen's secretive Thieves' Guild, is commissioned to steal a prized artefact from the heavily fortified estate of Murswich. Her esteemed client is no other than the war general of her country and the High Lord of the North, Remus Kantillion, a man second in power only to her King.
When a fire tears through the Northern Lord's campgrounds in the backyard of an ancient and treacherous forest, Lannasia flees with the glowing artefact Kantillion fervently desires-marking herself as a traitor to the North and a wanted criminal by the Crown.
In her long and arduous journey travelling the old forest to escape to the Southern Province's capital city, Lannasia meets the kind and wise Alderyth, Master Conjurer of the Mages' Guild, and his arrogant, obnoxious apprentice Nox Artois. Although Nox is constantly bristling with every interaction between the young mage and the thief, Lannasia joins their company in hopes to discover a way to safely return to the Thieves' Guild and revoke the bounty on her head.
Will she be able to rid herself of the stolen artefact and return to her life as Master Thief? Or is she bound to live out her life as a fugitive on the run from the second most powerful man in all of Elchwe?
