Cassandra Anderson is about to finish her 4th year of university, and then enter Medical School in hopes of saving lives. One day while volunteering at the local hospital, she encounters a mute elderly woman who begs her with expressive hands to stay after the nurses leave.
Moments before her death, words of a historic spell are impossibly muttered by the woman right before she hands Cass a jewel proclaiming an entire new destiny.
Out of nowhere, ex-roommate Macy wants to apologize for what she set Cass up for at the last house party they went to together... 3 years ago. High school sweetheart Jadie bumps into Cass at her favorite daily café... when he's supposed to be studying abroad halfway across the world.

After a few years of good friendship, Kiara realized her love for Cassandra took a different turn, she started to have feelings and soon after, she and Cassandra got into a relationship. Life was good. Too good. After graduation, something really really terrible happened. Cassandra got into a car accident. It was really bad. She got into a really bad coma. Now it's three years later and she's still fast asleep. Kiara's life has been on pause ever since. Until- Kiara also got into an accident. Not that kind of accident though..
