"I'm a monster.." the cadence in the witches voice trembles.
Newt draws closer to her. The warmth of his palms sting her jaw line. "Don't you dare say such a thing. I have yet to meet one." His eyes linger on her flustered cheeks. "Is it so wrong to want to help you?" He asks.
Frustration wells within her. "I don't need help! I just want the pain to end."
Newts face hardens of concern. He knows magical beasts so well that he fears his fellow wizards are far too complex to understand. Except he wants to help her. The witch, Esther, has gone through so many efforts to help him in the last 48 hours. What can he do to tame the beast inside her?
Time rewinds in his mind. He wonders if he could have done things differently to prevent this.
