It hurts when someone leaves your life for good. Someone who was once a big part of it. It's easy to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start moving forward. Really it's just one foot in front of the other, everyday, all day. But it's not that easy to realise that deep down you're still broken because you never gave yourself the time to heal.

Moving on is not about trying to bury the past. It's about acceptance. 

A girl named Irisa and a boy named Henry learn this lesson the hard way. And this is their story. Of hardships, of friendships, of breaking and hurting and healing. Of learning to let the love in again.

Growing up in a large, middle-class (if not lower) family had its challenges. More than I can account for actually. I had five older sisters and two older brothers. Throw me into the mix and that's a grand total of eight children living under one roof. If my mom hadn't stopped with yours truly, we would have definitely been able to form an entire soccer team with just our family alone. I can't recall much of my childhood and exactly how I interacted with each and every one of my siblings, but I can assure you that it was nowhere near a nice walk through the park. Even until this very day, I still stand by my statement. This is a story about a broken girl who fools the world with one simple action which requires less than ten muscles.
