Millie twists the lock on the door. The loud ringing of her phone cuts suddenly through the dread-filled atmosphere. She jumps in alarm. The pain in her stomach shoots up, toward her chest. Wincing, she limps to the bedroom to answer the phone.
"Call from: David Harbour," the phone's mechanical voice says, as she picks it up.
"H-hello?" Her voice shakes a little. She doesn't know why.
David sighs heavily on the other line. Millie holds her breath without realizing it.
"Look, kid-" he cuts himself off with another sigh.
A few seconds pass and she thinks she can hear him crying quietly.
"Harbour?" She swallows nervously.
"Wait - you don't know?"
"Know what?" Her voice takes on a higher pitch than she had intended.
He sniffs and clears his throat.
"What happened!? Tell me!"
"It's about Sadie."
