Those beings are usually a demigod/wizard or a very powerful entity such as a minor god. The Ancient Prophecy
The Greek Gods lost the Titan War . Titans rule over the world with an iron fist . Humans are forced into destroying any signs of the Gods' existence untill there are no more left . Anyone who disobeys suffers eternal pain in a prison build by the titans . There is no escape from that dark and maze-like place . Madness sticks like a magnet to every person who dares to wander through it . The one who makes sure all the rebels are caught is a group selected by the Titans themselves . Exactly what the title says, the mist is gone and demigods are slowly being revealed. Whether by choice, to protect someone or because the gods forced them to. The Shadow Play
In a world, the people are all blessed with powers or magic of their own at the age of 15. But it depends on what they have doing in life. Six friends were blessed with magic of their own, and they go to the School of Magic to learn how to control their powers/magic. They learn about the Pillars, who were the first ever people to gain powers or magic, and they were told to find out more information about them. But they realise that they have vanished a thousand years ago, making their research harder as there wasn't much information about them after their disappearance. It was then one of them decided to bring them back after learning what happened to them. Will they bring them back? Or will the darkness win the battle? Notes: Now obviously, this story isn't real, and some of them might be unrecognisable with each other, and well thats because they have not met yet.
