Mystery
Ashley just found out her boyfriend could not be found when the tragic event of 9-11 happened. She discovered another thing, too. Someone has predicted the deaths of people through a series of letters, including the death of her new boyfriend Adam. Who is this person and how do they know of the upcoming deaths of people including her sister and boyfriend? An excerpt from the book: Dear Mr. Jones, I need to inform you that you should NOT go to work on the date of September 11, 2001, due to a terrible accident that will occur. Listen to this letter and please OBEY these urgent words. If you don't listen something very terrible will happen. I swear it is true. I could be saving a special life here. Consider it a second chance. "Life is precious. Don't waste it," they say. I promise you will be dead if you don't follow the words I say. Warn whoever else should and MAY live. BELIEVE ALL I say and do not go to work on the 11th of September... These may be your last words today... Anonymous 9/09/01

I frowned, thrown off "Do i...remember?" "Do you remember..." she starts but her voice falters. She glances down at the sand, biting her lip debating whether to even continue. She then takes a shaky breath and finally looks up. Eyes locking with mine " do you even remember how you got it?" Her question hits me like a slap. I open my mouth, then close it, my brows furrowing as I force my brain to rewind. How did I get it? Nothing. Not a single clear memory. She steps closer, her voice trembling, but the edge of anger sharpening her words. "Or when? Or where? Or for what reason? Or what it even means?!" I flinch at her tone, but I can't answer her. I try. God, I try.. I look down at the sand beneath my feet, forcing myself to dig through every memory, every hazy night out, every stupid decision I might've made-but nothing. Not a single moment of how I got it surfaced. I let out a frustrated breath and rake a hand through my hair, feeling the panic rise like bile in my throat. When I finally lift my head to speak, Ashley's already staring at me, and I can tell-she knows my answer before I say a word. "You don't remember," she says softly, nodding like she expected it all along. __________________________________________ Crazy thing happened...Three years ago, a tragic accident left Ashley scarred and shattered.
