Me, myself, and I

A scientist, named Derek, has worked almost his entire life to complete two machines that he has today. One of those machines was a time machine, and the other was a merging machine. He suspects that combining the 6 to 7 people in the world that look almost exactly like you into one body, that body that remains, will have amazing power and knowledge. He only had two problems. (1) All the people that look like you come in different ages and different genders, and the merging machine only works when all the people are the same age. (2) He has no idea what would happen if the machines go wrong, so he has decided to use his son as his lab rat. Derek has made his son curious of his machines on purpos, so his son will test the machines for him without the kid even realizing that that is what his father wants him to do.
